Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal claims that every player that he spoke to wanted to move to Old Trafford, hitting back at Pep Guardiola's assertion that the Premier League giants does not have enough resources to afford some of the Bayern Munich stars.

Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller, and Toni Kroos were linked with the Red Devils before the season started, but apparently all of them, except Kroos who moved to Real Madrid last July, are still at the Allianz Arena.

"Every player I have contacted wants to play for Manchester United," said the Dutch overseer.

Van Gaal was able to prove that a club of United's caliber will be able to lure world-class names in spite of a year's absence in the Champions League, following the acquisitions of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao, among others, which predecessor David Moyes was not able to do.

"In spite of the fact that we are not playing in the Champions League this season, the players are still willing to come."

"It is unbelievable but it is because of the greatness of this club."

"They all believe in the project we have started now but I will say again that it has only just started. It still needs time."
