"Who needs Barbie when you can own your own life size pop star that sings to you?" That was Lady Gaga's tweet as she unveils Gagadoll over Twitter Wednesday.

Accompanying the tweet was a photo of her pose like a seated doll with two dolls beside her on a sofa. The staff of E! Online took 2 minutes before recognizing who among them was the real Gaga.

The Mother Monster's Japanese record label Universal Music Group decided to have life-sized dolls created to play tracks from her latest album, "Artpop," when one places his head onto the doll's chest.

Last month, the record firm released a YouTube video of how a GagaDoll is made using a bone conduction to make it play music.

It is not clear whether the dolls will only be promotional tools or will also be available for the avant-garde singer's fans, also known as Little Monsters. Fans has also speculated that the doll will be the latest invention of the singer's 'Tech Haus,' which produced the item considered as the world's first flying dress.

Gaga arrived Tuesday in Tokyo's Narita Airport to promote her latest album Artpop. On Wednesday, she was spotted at a Japanese restaurant with her father Joe Germanotta wearing a seashell bra, red leotards, rainbow-colored trousers and black patent boots. On Friday, she is set to appear in the TV show Music Station.

On Sunday she made news with her performance with R. Kelly at the American Music Awards where Gaga straddled Kelly in a replica of the U.S. President's desk in the Oval Office.

A few hours earlier, she arrived at the red carpet riding a white mechanical horse wearing the same outfit she wore for the Versace ad campaign. Last week, the fashion house announced Gaga as its latest brand ambassador, along with a photo of the ad campaign with her channeling Donatella Versace.
