Kevin Love remains with the Cleveland Cavaliers although that is subject to change at some point.

But for now, it appears the 34-year-old is focusing on his tenure with the Cavs. However, his role remains unknown.

No less than Love himself admitted that he has yet to discuss with Cavs coach JB Bickerstaff what role he will be doing this coming NBA season.

As most know, word got out that with Cleveland leaning on a youth movement. This placed the five-time All-Star’s status in question.

It was suggested that he would be taking on a backup role.

Per a recent update from Chris Fedor of, the one-time NBA champion addressed the buyout rumors that have come out.

Love revealed that no conversations on a buyout ever took place. He branded these claims as “s***” and stressed that these are things that are normally hurled to create some buzz.

The only plausible course for the Cavs and Love is to find a trade partner. Ben Simmons has been suggested with big man’s salary seen as the filler.

But right now, nothing close to a Love for Simmons trade deal has cropped up.

Love played just 25 games last season as injuries continue to prevent him from performing consistently.

This has hurt the Cavs with Bickerstaff forced to rely on other players in the mix such as Darius Garland and Collin Sexton.

Ironically, Sexton has also been mentioned in NBA trade rumors although nothing has materialized.

If any trade is to be pulled by the Cavs, Simmons will be the player to watch.

Cleveland is allegedly putting together a massive package of young stars to acquire the Australian cager with Garland and Evan Mobley the only ones untouchable.

Love and Sexton are likely to be part of that trade, as well as Issac Hartenstein. It remains to be seen if Philly will bite once the offer is on the table.
