Keanu Reeves has recently expressed his interest to reprise his titular role in a “John Wick” sequel. The actor also revealed what he thought would be the best plot in the film.

Keanu Reeves recently sat down for an interview with IGN ahead of the U.K. release of “John Wick.” According to Screengonzo, the actor was asked whether he would like to reprise his role in a sequel and what he thinks would be the ideal plot for the film. The actor’s response basically confirmed his commitment to the film when he said he loved “playing the character so it would be fun to play him again.”

As for plot details, Keanu Reeves wants for the “John Wick” sequel to explore the underworld history behind the Continental Hotel again. Outside of the usual action scenes, the actor thought it would be best to also have a “story” that helps build up a possible drama in the sequel.

“I think that whole underworld that’s in John Wick- there’s the real world and then there’s the underworld, that criminal element and the world of the Continental Hotel is definitely going to be explored and expanded if there is a messy intention,” he added.

The Continental Hotel, the hotel for assassins, was supposedly one of the most intriguing elements in “John Wick.” The film gained praises for its action-packed scenes but few people also noticed the lack of character development in the story. Even co-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch admitted that it’s something they want to work on in the sequel.

In an interview with Movies.com, the directors revealed a script for the sequel is in currently in development. Stahelski further teased some possible plot details, revealing that the “John Wick” sequel will build on the most important element in the film- the character’s story. Stahelski said the film will focus on how much viewers would like the character.

Stahelski further said that the action scenes would still be there but that’s second to developing a character whom everybody will love. “Lietch on the other hand said the “John Wick” sequel will be a journey detailing the character’s story. “You gotta go on a journey with the guy and have to like the guy,” he said.
