Children these days are highly interested in gadgets; cameras can be one of the many devices they like to get their hands on. However, cameras are very delicate and cannot be given to kids who may use it irresponsibly and once the camera is damaged you would have to spend more just to get it fixed. Keeping this in mind Fuhu, a company that has previously designed tablets for kids has now decided to launch an action camera.

The latest Nabi Square HD, a cube-shaped camera that is designed to suit the needs of the children costs $169 and is similar to the first generation GoPro Hero. This is not the first child-friendly action camera they have designed, but the Nabi Square HD is novel, in that the designs are very different from the cameras seen in the past. The camera in the shape of a cube, standing true to its name and it also supports 4k recording which is great. According to Techhive, you can shoot at 15 frames per second or "drop the recording speed to 120 fps at 720p resolutions, for slo-mo playback."

It has also kept in mind the durability factor as children can be quite carefree and can throw the camera around. Hence, the build has to be able to withstand this sort of a treatment. Fuhu told Engadget that the camera is water resistant and can survive 30 feet under water. It is also shock proof and dust proof. Speaking of the purpose behind its creation, the company stated that it was not designed to compete with mainstream cameras but to be used to capture family memories through the eyes of a child.

Though the camera states that children must be 13 years or older to use it due to certain delicate components, they have also given to children who are just four years old, with adult supervision. The Fuhu's kid-friendly tablet has apps that allow them to edit family videos and share it and this just adds to it, since they can now record their own high quality, 4K videos.
