Free-pass rusher Elvis Dumervil agrees in a multi-year contact with the Baltimore Ravens.

In a report by Adam Schefter from ESPN, Dumervil will receive a $35 million contract from the Baltimore Ravens and for his first year, he will receive $8.5 million.

Dumervil was scheduled to sign to remain with the Denver Broncos for $12 milion. But due to some twists in events, the three-time Pro Bowl surprisingly hit the free agent market after his agent Martin Magid failed to fax the paperwok with Broncos on March 15.

Dumervil has parted with his agent and hired Tom Condon of CAA Sports. Condon was the one who established the negotiations with the Broncos who wanted Dumervil back to their team and with the Ravens who is need of an experienced pass-rusher.

"As we have from the start of this process, we worked diligently over the last week to find a way for Elvis Dumervil to remain a Denver Bronco. Although we made multiple contract offers to Elvis after being forced to release him, we were unable to reach an agreement and are now moving forward without him," said vice president of football operations John Elway in a statement on Sunday.

"Elvis was a team captain and a talented player who made a great impact during his seven seasons in Denver. I appreciate all of his effort on the field and the work he did in the community. I wish Elvis all the best as he continues his NFL career," he added.

The 29-year-old pro athlete was chosen by the Denver Broncos during the 2006 NFL Draft. He has also been selected for the Pro Bowl three times. During his early years, he attended the Miami Jackson High School and played for the Jackson Generals high school football team. Since he was picked to play professionally for the NFL, he has stayed with the Denver Broncos before finally transferring to the Baltimore Ravens just recently.
