Marion Bartoli claimed world No. 1 Novak Djokovic is not too far from breaking Roger Federer’s Grand Slam mark, considering the Serb’s dominating performances in the last five major tournaments.

Djokovic is still a number of Grand Slam trophies away from Federer’s record of 17 major titles. But according to Bartoli, 2013 Wimbledon women’s singles champion, “Djoker” has a “good chance” of eclipsing the Swiss Maestro’s mark.

“No one could have thought that someone will cross Federer’s 17 Grand Slam mark,” Bartoli told The Asian Age. “But the level of tennis he is playing right now is incredible. He has a good chance of winning more slams than Federer.”

At 28 years old, Djokovic has plenty of time left to catch up with Federer’s winning mark, especially with the Serb playing in his prime and dominating all of the competition he has joined in the last two years. After winning the Australian Open title last month, Djokovic levels with Aussie great Rod Laver and Sweden’s Bjorn Borg with 11 Grand Slam titles. With a calendar Grand Slam on his sights, Djokovic could soon replace Federer in the all-time list of most Grand Slam singles titles.

"It's still very early for me to talk about the Grand Slam in a year. You know, that would be something very extraordinary, but it is possible,” Djokovic said last month while competing at the Qatar Open. "I definitely have that kind of mindset.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic’s official website has released the Serb’s full schedule for the month of March. He is set to compete at the 2016 Davis Cup on Mar. 4, then will head to Indian Wells and the Miami Open in the second and third week of March. His next competition will be on Feb. 22 in UAE at the Dubai Tennis Championship, where he could meet world No. 4 Stan Wawrinka and Aussie youngster Nick Kyrgios.
