Despite rumours that “Designated Survivor” may be canceled, ABC recently announced via Twitter that the political thriller will be back soon. President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) will lead the strong, the proud and the united on March 8.

According to Pogdesign, the upcoming episode of “Designated Survivor,” titled “Warriors,” will feature how the entire nation will try to recover from the aftermath of the shooting incident during the inauguration of Vice President Peter MacLeish (Ashley Zukerman). It is still uncertain who the shooter as well as the target was. In the meantime, Kirkman and Emily (Italia Ricci) attempt to confirm that there is a traitor in the White House. FBI Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) also struggles whether she will reveal her knowledge about the conspiracy behind the Capitol bombing.

“Designated Survivor” supervising producer Sang Kyu Kim posted the final scene on Twitter, which was a conversation between Kirkman and Chief Edward Marino (Alex Mallari Jr). Based on their exchange, Carson will be injured in a helicopter crash while Max will replace him. Kirkman tried to apologise to Marino for the death of his friend because he authorised the mission. They were victorious but a life was lost.

Sang Kyu Kim also tweeted the script of the late final scene. The “Designated Survivor” scene continued the conversation between Kirkman and Marino. The latter was trying to convince the President that his decision was sound and they never doubted him. Marino also mentioned that his friend’s death saved the children and allowed him to witness the birth of his first child. Apparently, Lambert will die in a future episode, since Kirkman saluted his casket in the script. The end will have Kirkman walking on the tarmac full of grief, regret and relief, similar to John F Kennedy’s iconic image, “The Loneliest Job.”

Previously, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) submitted a resolution to ban “Designated Survivor” for allegedly undermining people’s faith in the FBI. The fictional version of the FBI Director on the ABC series was shown to have been blackmailed into confessing a crime that he did not commit. The DNC claims that real-life FBI Director James Comey did not need to be blackmailed to engage in illegal partisan activities, which resulted to the election of President Donald Trump. The DNC has yet to vote on the resolution.

“Designated Survivor” season 1 episode 11 is directed by Stephen Surjik and co-written by Paul Redford and Carol Flint. “Warriors” will air on March 8 on ABC in the US. It also airs on Netflix US and Netflix Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
