CONFIRMED: James Wan is set to helm the superhero tale "Aquaman." The "Furious 7" director will work alongside Jason Momoa. The former "Game Of Thrones" co-star will play the role of "Aquaman."

The DC superhero movie will be written by Kurt Johnstad, and to be produced by Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah, as well as Charles Roven. Warner Brothers President Greg Silverman said that they were lucky to have Wan on board.
"James is not only a great storyteller but can make action truly explode on the big screen, and Jason has a dynamic presence that commands your attention. Together, they will bring an undeniable vitality and energy to this character as he headlines his first feature film,” Silverman said.
Due to the successful movie box office gross of "Furious 7," "The Conjuring" director has become one of the hottest helmers of his generation. The action flick that Wan helmed has grossed US$1.5 billion ($1.9 billion) at the box office worldwide.
