Twelve days before the release of her upcoming film “A Christmas Star,” Kylie Minogue, 47, will switch the Christmas lights on Oxford Street. She will be joined by several artists as she kicks off the winter festivities in London.

On Nov. 1, Minogue will launch London’s festive shopping season onstage outside the Pandora store at Marble Arch . Among the special guests are “The X Factor” alums Fleur East and Ben Haenow, a “Matilda The Musical” cast member, Gabrielle Aplin and Foxes.

East and Haenow will perform their new singles during the event, which will also be attended by Capital FM breakfast hosts Lisa Snowden and Dave Berry. Through live-streaming app Periscope, the event will be broadcast to a global audience for the first time, according to Evening Standard.

“This event officially marks the start of Christmas for London,” Belfast Telegraph quoted Berry as saying. “The atmosphere on Oxford Street at the lights switch-on is always fantastic and it is great to be part of the Christmas countdown once again.”

It will also be the first time that West Oxford Street will be closed to traffic during the event. In addition, nearby shops on London's most famous retail road will offer special discounts. In its 56th year, the road will be decorated for London’s winter festivities.

This year, the decorations include 750,000 LED light bulbs and 1,778 baubles. Additional 445 new golden baubles glittering among the snowball-shaped lights will also be revealed by the switch-on to be initiated by Minogue.

On Nov. 13, Minogue will release her 13th studio album titled “Kylie Christmas” with 13 Christmas songs. The album is also her first Christmas album.

“A Christmas Star” will hit also theatres on Nov. 13 in the United Kingdom. Minogue’s co-stars in the film are Pierce Brosnan, Liam Neeson, Rob James-Collier, Bronagh Waugh, Suranne Jones, Erin Galway-Kendrick, Paula Malcomson and Julian Fellowes, among others.
