Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta penned a new five-year deal with Chelsea on Tuesday (London time), tying him with the Stamford Bridge outfit until 2019.

"Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce Cesar Azpilicueta has today signed a new five-year contract," read a statement on the Club's official website.

The 25-year-old moved to west London during the summer of 2012, making 95 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, to date, tallying a goal and 10 assists in the process.

He is strong on the defensive end and could also cause problems on attack.

At international level, the Chelsea Players' Player of the Year awardee already won 8 caps for Spain's senior side since making his debut in 2013, while taking part in the proceedings of the recent World Cup in Brazil.
