Carlos Moya has no doubts that compatriot Rafael Nadal will come back strong next season. Nadal, who had an injury-plagued season, had to sit out the remainder of the ATP calendar including the men's tennis year-end finals in London. However, Moya, a former world number one, is confident that Nadal can bounce back from his mediocre 2014 season.

In an interview with Press Trust of India, or PTI, ahead of the third leg of the International Premier Tennis League, or IPTL, Moya said that he always gets in touch with Nadal and he is aware that the Mallorca native has gone back to training after undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy in November. According to Moya, Nadal has been quite "unlucky" with injuries. In 2014, Nadal had suffered back injury during the Australian Open in January. Nadal also had a wrist injury that resulted in his early exit at the Wimbledon Championship, which also made him miss the U.S. Open. Nadal's first appearance after his wrist injury was in China, but his comeback was halted when he was diagnosed with appendicitis. Nadal's last tournament was against teen Borna Coric during the quarterfinals of Basel tournament in October.

"Every time, he (Nadal) has had an injury, he has come back stronger than before," Moya told PTI. "There is no reason to think it is going to be any different."

Moya added that Nadal will undoubtedly be on top of the world rankings when he comes back. He said Nadal has managed to win majors in the last 10 years even though he has had injuries.

Nadal was supposed to play for the IPTL, but he had to withdraw. Roger Federer took Nadal's place instead. Moya revealed that Nadal is now focused and motivated in the 2015 season.
