"The Mombasa Cartel," Episode 5 of "The Blacklist" Season 2 Episode 6, confirmed speculations that Tom Keen is alive and he is the secret that Liz is hiding behind the closed door. The first season finale saw Liz shooting Tom but when the cops arrived at the spot, his body was not there. He appears in the final moments of Episode 5 of Season 2, sporting a beard and a dishevelled look.

Tom Behind The Closed Door: The sniper-man finds out Liz's big secret. He gives her 24 hours of time. Either she herself tells Red or he will do that, he warns her. In less than 24 hours, the sniper-man gets arrested and he is put in solitary confinement. He cannot contact Red. The cops arrest him based on Liz's tip-off that the man is an accomplice of the FBI's most wanted criminal, Red. Red tells Liz that he will eventually finds out what she is hiding from him. In the final moments of the episode, Liz opens the locked door and enters. The camera follows her this time. Tom is shown alive. Liz tells him that she has not yet decided what to do with him. She adds that she thought of telling Red, as he would know what to do, but she did not, as it is her responsibility. Tom tells her that he has answered all her questions. Tom says, "You can't hide me forever."

Red And The Woman Called Zoe: The episode does not reveal the back-story of Zoe -- or the real identity if there is one -- who was tracked down by an official at DMV for Red in the previous episode. In this episode, Red is shown reading a newspaper while drinking coffee in front of Zoe's food truck. He intentionally leaves behind his hat on a chair. The woman sees the hat and runs after Red to give him his "favourite" hat. He introduces himself as Kenneth. At the end of the episode, he is seen sitting with Zoe and the two are having a friendly talk.
