After a month of speculation about his involvement in the movie, Michael Shannon finally confirms that he will be in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The actor, who plays General Zod in “Man of Steel,” revealed little details about his role in the film but says he shares some scenes with Superman.

Shannon admits his presence in “Dawn of Justice” after being grilled by Larry King on “Larry King NOW.” In his video interview with King, shared by Comic Book Movie, Shannon was asked who he plays in “Batman V Superman.” The actor chuckles and instead of giving a direct answer he recalls his role in “Man of Steel.”

“In Man of Steel, Superman viciously cracks my neck and leaves me dead on the floor, so…,” he starts when King interrupts by asking, “So you’re not Zod?”

Shannon stutters in his reply and says, “It’s the same thing like in the first one with Jor-El – Russell Crowe’s character – is kind of like a ghost. So I guess I’m a ghost...kind of.”

To clarify his statements, King asks, “So you are there as Zod?” to which Shannon confirms with a simple “Yeah.”

King decides to get more information about Shannon’s role in “Dawn of Justice.” When asked if he has scenes with both Batman and Superman, Shannon reveals that “he did not cross paths with Batman.”

Last month, Shannon stirred speculations about his role and costume as General Zod in “Dawn of Justice” after he mentioned having flippers for hands. During his interview with King, the actor admits he was only kidding when he said Zod will have flippers in the movie.

“It was a false … it was a red herring, as it were, “he tells King after he explains that the pressure not to talk about the film makes him say “silly things.”

Shannon’s confirmation that he will appear as some kind of ghost in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” proves his death in “Man of Steel.” It also disputes speculations that Shannon will portray the role of Doomsday in the film after Lex Luthor experiments with his corpse and turns him into his ultimate weapon to defeat Superman.
