The year 2016 will mark a major shift away from Apple’s regular custom of holding major events in the second half of the year. Apple will unveil just a few of its most awaited devices at events held in March. Devices that might be launched in March 2016 include the 4-inch iPhone, the second generation Apple Watch and the eagerly anticipated iPad Air 3.

At last September’s fall event that launched the giant screen iPad Pro, Apple didn’t reveal substantial information about the iPad Air 3. The Black Friday and Cyber 2015 sales witnessed massive discounts on the iPad Air 2. This indicates the company will soon launch its successor in March 2016, reports Tech Times. The device will come with a price tag of US$610 (AU$848).

Reports suggest the company might launch both the MacBook Retina and iPad Air 3 at the same platform. The iPad Air 3 will reportedly come packed with a 9.7-inch 4K display and be powered by the A9X processor. Read this to learn more about the iPad Air 3.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is also planning to unveil the 2nd generation Apple Watch at an event in March. The possible shipment of the Apple Watch 2 will begin from April. The next generation Apple Watch will provide more accurate health data readings. Furthermore, a report in NDTV Gadgets claims Apple is working on a handful of new technologies to upgrade the Apple Watch 2.

Reports also suggest Apple might launch the most awaited 4-inch iPhone 6c at the same event alongside Apple Watch 2. The iPhone 6c may not sport the revolutionary 3D Force Touch but will come with support for Apple Pay, as speculated by Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. The 4-inch iPhone will be an ‘upgraded’ version of the iPhone 5s rather than the iPhone 5c.

Next year, Apple is slated to showcase its MacBook Pro 2016 in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference. This will be followed by the release of the next generation iPhone 7 at the annual fall event of Apple in September.
