"The Amazing Race" Season 23 has just ended and its new winners were just announced. Who won? Well, it was a tight race to the end in the CBS reality competition's Episode 11 and two-hour series finale between the teams of Jason and Amy (Dating), Tim and Marie (Exes), Leo and Jamal or "The Afghanimals" (Cousins) and Nicole and Travis (Married ER Doctors). After a lot of twists and turns, "The Amazing Race" Season 23 announced its new winners, dating couple Jason Case and Amy Diaz, a former Miss Rhode Island U.S.A. beauty queen.

"The Amazing Race" Season 23 Episode 11 title is "Amazing 'Crazy' Race." It was a quote from one of the contestants, Jamal Zadran of "The Afghanimals" team. The long-running and award winning show's episode titles are usually taken from the quotes made by one of the racers in that particular season.

"The Amazing Race" Season 23 featured eleven teams of two in a race around the world, which included nine countries and four continents. Each team member must have a pre-existing relationship with the other member.

Dating couple Jason and Amy beat the other ten teams of two including former Houston Texans players Ephraim Salaam and Chester Pitts and former Minor League Baseball player and sports agent Tim Sweeney. The other teams that competed were Ally and Ashley (National Hockey League (NHL) LA Kings Ice Crew maintenance workers), Nicky and Kim (baseball player wives of Kansas City Royals Chris Getz and Tampa Bay Rays David DeJesus), Brandon and Adam (childhood friends), Rowan and Shane (theatre performers from the stage comedy "The Queen of Bingo"), Tim and Danny (best friends) and Hoskote and Naina (Father and Daughter).

Aside from the U.S., the other countries the teams visited were Poland, Portugal, Austria, Indonesia, Japan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Norway and Chile.

"The Amazing Race" Season 23 started at the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio in Santa Clarita, California. The last leg of the race (Leg 12) was done in Juneau, Alaska. Only Jason and Amy, Tim and Marie and Nicole and Travis raced in this leg towards the finish line at the end of North Douglas Highway's Outerpoint Trail.

Jason and Amy emerged as the first among the three teams, with Tim and Marie in second place and Nicole and Travis in third place. Jason and Amy usually ended up in second place for most of the race (six times), but pulled out all the stops on the final leg of the race to win the U.S. $1 million prize money.

"The Amazing Race" Season 23 winners Jason Case and Amy Diaz raced with each other across more than 35,000 miles around the world to come out on top, battling it out in difficult challenges that included building a robot, eating weird things and using a phone booth filled with water and gold fish. It was a victory well earned. Congratulations Jason and Amy!
