Michael Clifford from Five Seconds of Summer (5SOS) updated his fans on his health condition following his Radio 1 Teen Awards accident at the Wembley Arena on Sunday. The singer fell from the stage just as the group was about to perform their latest single, “Hey Everybody!”

Clifford took to his Twitter account to assure his fans that he is doing well following his fall. The 19-year-old remained cheerful and positive even though he admitted that he would have to be on crutches for a few days.

After his fall, Clifford reportedly went right back up on stage to continue with the group's performance. Clifford said in an interview after their performance that he fell because he was distracted by the host, Rita Ora.

"I was looking at Rita Ora and I was like... hey.... and I fell,” he said.

In the video below, Clifford can be standing on the left side and then suddenly disappears. The singer walks backward into thin air and falls into a pit at the centre of the stage.

According to MTV, this is not the first time that Clifford had an accident at the Wembley Arena. Back in June, during a 5SOS gig, he walked straight to a pyrotechnic display. The fireworks caught his hair and it went into flames. He was immediately pulled out of the group’s performance and was fortunately treated right away.

Clifford took to Twitter afterward to joke about the incident. He shared a photo of himself with a plaster taped to the side of his face. He captioned the shot with, “What the f**ks up. sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. thanks for worrying every1 .”

The singer seemed to recall the accident as well over the weekend when he posted a couple of tweets about Wembley Arena not liking him that much. He also questioned his carelessness during stage performances.

Other artists also performed at the Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday, including One Direction, Little Mix, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and Justin Bieber. Ed Sheeran and One Direction were given the Best British Solo Artist and Best British Group award, respectively.
