VGChartz, a video game sales tacking Web site came up with the latest pre-order video games figures for the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 in the United States.

Since August 24 to October 19, the PlayStation 4 gained a total of 125, 000 pre-order units. That puts Sony's PS4 a total of 750, 000 pre-ordered next-gen video games in the U.S. alone.

On the other hand, Microsoft's Xbox One is tailing PS4 with a total of 170, 000 within the same period as reported by VGChartz. That gives Microsoft's Xbox One a total of 525, pre-orders.

According to the Web site's blog post, "Week one sales for both consoles in the US are expected to be pretty similar," "At the current pace the PlayStation 4 should sell just over one million units, while the Xbox One should sell just under one million units."

Here is the list of the top next-gen video games:

Expectedly, Activision's Call of Duty: Ghosts tops the list both for the Xbox One and the PS4 with a total of329, 032 pre-order units on Xbox One and 298, 180 on PS4.

On both systems, Battlefield 4 tallied with 153, 221 on Xbox One and 273, 766 on the PS4.

Activision and EA take the top spots in the list of top pre-ordered next-generation video games but the Ubisoft puts a fight with its Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs although the latter is reported to be delayed until 2014.

If these figures are accurate then it is safe to say that the Microsoft's Xbox One is moving head-to-head with Sony's PlayStation 4, although PS4 remains to be on top.
