Several news about PopCap releasing "Plants vs. Zombies 2" for Android that flooded the Internet the past days seem to be a hoax. Android users were dismayed about these false reports and they are still waiting for the game to get global.

While several reports said that smash hit PVZ2 is already available for download on Google Play, Android users reported that the link didn't allow them to download the app.

PopCap Games' Senior Director of Worldwide PR confirmed that the news released were false. However, the PopCap director stressed that Plants Vs. Zombies for Android will go global "very soon."

It has been almost 2 months since PVZ2 was initially released by PopCap game developers on iOS for free in Aug. And despite being exclusive to Apple gamers, it scored a total of 16 million downloads in less than a week's time. Just after that, the game was made available for Android gamers in New Zealand and Australia in Sept. Moreover, after "Plants vs. Zombies 2" for Android reached China, PopCap blog reported that:

"A huge wave of zombies has landed in China! That's right: Plants vs. Zombies 2 is now available for Android in China. This means we're one step closer to bringing the Android adaptation of Plants vs. Zombies 2 to the whole world!"

Nonetheless, the rest of the globe is still waiting for this highly-anticipated PopCap game.

"Plants vs. Zombies 2's" Twitter account has been hinting that something big is coming. Similarly, the official account also started to answer queries regarding the global release of "Plants vs. Zombies 2": It's About Time worldwide.

Just today, PVZ2 Twitter account tweeted telling "Something big is coming tomorrow..." However, it is still unclear whether or not it will be the release of "Plants vs. Zombies 2" worldwide.

"Stay tuned for more announcements! "BobZombie" the official account replied to a tweet asking if "something big" is the release of the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" for Android.

This is not the first time that an application has been released to Apple users earlier than the Android version. "Plants vs. Zombies" was released to Apple users Feb. 2010 while the Android version followed one year and three months after. Currently, "Grand Theft Auto 5" app is also awaiting release for Android users.
