“X-Factor Australia” is nearing its Season 7 end, with only four contenders left vying for the winning spot. A quick look at this season’s reality competition reveals which judge spends the most time with contenders. Meanwhile, Cyrus Villanueva talks about his music inspiration and “X-Factor Australia” journey.

According to a behind-the-scenes report from Daily Telegraph, Chris Isaak is the only one among the “X-Factor Australia” Season 7 judges who usually spends time with the contenders. Isaak, who joined the reality competition’s judges’ panel for the first time this year, is often seen talking with the contestants.

Isaak even admitted to Daily Telegraph that he was surprised at how much he enjoyed conversing with “X-Factor Australia” contenders. “I think I am the only one who talks to the musicians,” he said. “I don’t know why. I love hanging out with them.”

The “X-Factor Australia” judge also added that he appreciates the time he spends with the aspiring singers. “I learn a lot from young artists,” he explained. “What they talk about, what they listen to. I love their energy.”

Even the recently ousted “X-Factor Australia” Season 7 contestant Mahalia Simpson commented on Isaak’s closeness with the contenders. “He’s pretty much the only one who comes and visits us,” she shared to Daily Telegraph prior her elimination from the show. “He gives us pep talks and encourages us.”

Meanwhile, Isaak is the only “X-Factor Australia” Season 7 judge left with two contenders on his team, namely, Big T and fan-favourite Cyrus Villanueva. During last week’s live show, Villanueva wowed the judges and “X-Factor Australia” viewers with his rendition of Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do.”

In an interview with The National, the 19-year-old aspiring singer revealed that his interest and love in music would not have been possible without his father’s encouragement. The Filipino-Australian singer’s father, Jo Vill, is a full-time musician.

“I never took any singing or guitar lessons – everything I know and have learnt from music before The X Factor was all thanks to him,” he told The National.

Villanueva also spoke about the possibility of winning “X-Factor Australia” Season 7 during his interview with The National. He stated that the accomplishment will prove that “anything can be achieved if you put all of your effort into it.” He added that if he wins, “it would be the beginning of a totally different life.”

Fans would have to tune in to the reality singing competition to find out whether Villanueva will be this season's winner. The next episode of "X-Factor Australia" Season 7 airs Mondays at 7:30 pm.
