The sixth live performance of “X-Factor Australia” held on Monday was a stressful night for both the contenders and mentors with the “Judge’s Challenge.” Mentor Chris Isaak’s boys Cyrus Villanueva and Big T’s covers were just some of the hot performance topics during Monday night’s show. Villanueva received a standing ovation, while judges critiqued Big T’s performance.

Monday’s “X-Factor Australia” season 7 live show was another great night for the aspiring Filipino-Australian singer, Villanueva. In the “Judge’s Challenge,” the 19 year old singer received a song challenge from judge Guy Sebastian, who had him perform Bob Dylans’ “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door,” according to Sunshine Coast Daily. Villanueva’s amazing cover was praised by his mentor Isaak and he even gained a standing ovation from all the judges.

Meanwhile, Villanueva’s co-team member Big T had a rough Monday night. The Perth singer was asked to perform Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” a song chosen by “X-Factor Australia” judge Dannii Minogue. However, he started the song in the wrong key and even forgot a lyric or two, Rickey.org reported. Despite the unimpressive start, Big T was still able to deliver killer notes towards the end and also showed off his dance moves.

The four “X-Factor Australia” judges still praised Big T for continuing with the song and maintaining his professionalism, stated Sunshine Coast Daily. However, mentor Isaak was affected by judge James Blunt's comment when he described Big T’s performance as something close to becoming a “cruise ship” singer’s style.

The debate continued off-camera, as shown in a short clip posted in the reality competition’s official Twitter account, which featured Blunt, Isaak and Sebastian talking backstage. In the clip, Blunt told Isaak that Big T’s Bruno Mars cover was “a bad performance,” which was also confirmed by Sebastian. Blunt went on to tell Isaak that “he needed to accept” it and the “responsibility as a judge” over Big T’s performance.

Isaak responded by telling Blunt that he didn’t have to worry about Isaak “belittling” himself and commented on Blunt’s “unfair” feedback. “I’m telling you what you did was not fair…” he said. “It was unfair to a young singer.”

Meanwhile, Michaela Baranov was the last contender voted off “X-Factor Australia” season 7. Only six finalists are left for Tuesday’s live decider show - Villanueva, Big T, Jess and Matt, Louise Adams, Mahalia Simpson and Natalia Conway.

The live decider show of “X-Factor Australia” season 7 airs on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
