Finally the long wait for “Winds of Winter” appears to be over. A page by Amazon has teased the release date and price of the next book in “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series. The details are yet to be confirmed by George R. R. Martin and his publisher.

According to a page on Amazon France, the book will be released on March. 9, 2017. The book will be priced at EUR 9.94 (AU$14.53), which is slightly more than “A Dance with Dragons” that is priced at EUR 7.63 (AU$11.16).

The new book by Martin is smaller, according to the listing on Amazon. The book will supposedly have 704 pages with dimensions of 13 * 19 * 7 cm. “A Dance With Dragons” has 976 pages with the dimensions 11.1 * 6.3 * 17.8 cm. There is no extract from the new book posted in this page.

Martin has already said that any announcement with regards to “Winds of Winter” will be made on his blog. The author is yet to confirm that he has completed the book. Upon completion the book will go through the editing process before being released worldwide.

The book was supposed to be released before the premiere episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 6. Martin admittedly missed that deadline, but has since been working hard to complete the book for his fans.

In a recent blog post, Martin said that he wanted to write about his experience at the Worldcon, Hugo Awards and other things. However, he was too tired to write about it. After the small break from writing; the author is “back at the old homestead and back at work.”

Is Martin close to finishing “Winds of Winter”? If the author has already completed the book; the announcement should come soon. “A Dance with Dragons” was released way back in 2011. The HBO TV series has gained massive popularity since then, making the next book one of the most highly anticipated publishing events.
