'Game of Thrones' Season 7 spoilers: The four characters in the race for the Iron Throne and their running mates

With the US elections making headlines this year, the producers have released video campaigns of the main characters of “Game of Thrones” who are in the race for the Iron Throne in Season 7. The videos tease what the election campaign of each of the character would be like.

First on the list is Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), who is currently occupying the Iron Throne. Her “running mate” is Qyburn (Anton Lesser), the loyal but controversial Maester. The video campaign of the character points out the reasons why the other contenders are unworthy to take her place.

Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) is described as a “murderer,” as he effectively became the lord of the Vale by killing Lysa Arryn (Kate Dickie). Jon (Kit Harington) can’t be king because he isn’t the true born son of Ned Stark and is a Snow. All of Westeros, including Cersei, doesn’t know the secret behind his birth. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is called an “outsider” in the video.

Perhaps the biggest challenge to Cersei’s rule in “Game of Thrones” Season 7 comes from Daenerys. The video of the Mother of Dragons simply contains one of her dialogues. She had previously described all the major Houses fighting for power as spokes on a wheel, and she promised to break that wheel. Her running mate is Tyrion (Peter Dinklage).

Baelish’s video calls Cersei dishonest, despised, desperate, distrusted and disgraceful. There is no mention of any of the other contender for the throne. His running mate is Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

Jon Snow was declared King in the North in the previous season. His main goal is to defeat the Night King and his army in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, and he has no stated objective of claiming the Iron Throne. That may change once he learns about his true parents. His election video is different from the others. The video features some of the fans suggesting that they would vote for him if there was an election. His running mate is Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey).
