Both donning cowboy hats, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Calgary stampede and took part in various festival activities.

William and Kate showed up in casual clothes and cowboy hats that made them look like they're one with the crowd. After sitting on a motorcade, the couple moved on the BMO Centre in a horse carriage that kicked off the chuckwagon race. The Duke even hauled a camp stove onto a chuckwagon as spectators watched by.

Fans of the Duchess showed their affection and welcome by wearing miniature white Stetson hats as fascinators, and Catherine couldn't be more amused. Calgary local Nancy Cherniwchan, along with some friends, created the "Calgary stampede fascinator hats" to pay tribute to the Duchess' love of wearing these accessories.

"It wasn't meant to be in anyway disrespectful. It was meant to be a fun way of saying, 'Welcome to Calgary,' and blending the sort of British fashion item of the year, with our Calgary heritage and the significance of the cowboy hat here" says Cherniwchan in a report posted at The Globe and Mail.

The Royal couple continues their last few Canadian stops today at the Calgary Rotary Challenger Park to kick off the rodeo season and competitions. The couple will continue their North American tour in Hollywood, California.
