The third installment of the highly successful “Thor” is not out until 2017, but fans are already eagerly anticipating its premiere especially after the announcement of the new cast members.

Marvel and Disney have recently announced the additional cast members of "Thor: Ragnarok," led by two-time Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett, who plays the powerful new villain Hela, as well as “Independence Day: Resurgence” star Jeff Goldblum who brings to life as the eccentric Grandmaster.

“Creed” actress Tessa Thompson will also join the cast as the classic hero Valkyrie, while “Star Trek” actor Karl Urban adds spice to the new cast as Skurge. Three-time Oscar-nominee Mark Ruffalo reprises his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk from “Marvel’s The Avengers” and Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Producer Kevin Feige as reported by Slash Film. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible.”

Whilst the announcement for the new cast members did not include Jaime Alexander, she took to Twitter to hint her return as Lady Sif. “Don’t worry,” she wrote, with a wink. She responded when one fan tweeted, “Whoa! WTF?!! they just announced the cast for Thor 3 and NO SIF?!!! Sadness overload!” Some fans wonder whether Alexander’s new TV series, “Blindspot,” would affect her role in “Thor: Ragnarok.”
