“Thor: Ragnarok” may be Tom Hiddleston’s last appearance as Loki. The 35-year-old English actor hinted that the third, and probably last, instalment of the Norse mythology-inspired Marvel film will be his “last time out of the gate.”

Hiddleston was propelled to international stardom when he landed the role of Loki in the 2011 superhero film “Thor.” He was initially considered for the title character, but the producers thought he would be better cast as Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) adopted brother, Loki. From then on, he became recognisable worldwide.

He reprised his role in two more Marvel films, “Thor: The Dark World” (2013) and “The Avengers” (2012), and will be playing the character again in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok.”

But it seems “Ragnarok” will be the last time fans will ever see him don Loki’s horns.

“Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years,” Hiddleston told the Daily Beast. “I love working with Chris. This will be my last time out of the gate.”

When asked if he would not be in “Avengers: Infinity War,” he said, “I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know. They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”

According to Cheatsheet.com, “Thor: Ragnarok” will act as a bridge to the two-part “Avengers” film. While “Captain America: Civil War” will deal with world politics, the third Thor film will be about bigger and more expansive things. Birth Movies Death previously reported that the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) might be playing a major role in “Ragnarok.” The film will also launch the Marvel superheroine Valkyrie/Brunnhilde, and this might also mean that the Norse goddess The Enchantress, Valkyrie’s enemy, would be introduced.

“Thor: Ragnarok” is set to be released in 2017, while “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2” are set for 2018 and 2019 release respectively.

Meanwhile, Hiddleston is starring in the miniseries “The Night Manager” with Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, David Harewood, Tom Hollander and Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki. He has also finished production on “Kong: Skull Island,” which will be released in 2017.
