Microsoft surprised the tech world by silently releasing the Surface 3 this month and now rumours are indicating that the Surface Pro 4 is slated for a release at the end of this month. Microsoft is going to hold its Build Developer Conference from April 29 and it will last until May 1. The Surface Pro 4 is expected to get showcased during this event.

According to a recent published on Digi Times, the Redmond giant will unleash the Apple MacBook killer during the upcoming Build conference. However, it will not be available for purchase but it is likely introduced to the world. It further adds that the mass production is going to start in June. Finally, the Surface Pro 4 release date will be set for the second half of the year when the Windows 10 will ready for a release.

The Surface 3 that can be used both as a tablet and laptop has a prowess to take on other tablets available in the market. However, the Surface Pro 4 laptop-tablet hybrid will be powerful enough to take on multiple Apple products like the Apple MacBook and the purported Apple iPad Pro, claims Tech Radar.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the Surface Pro 4 features, specifications and release date from an official source. The International Business Times report published last week reveals the rumoured specs of the Surface Pro 4 would include the unreleased Skylake CPU.

The Skylake processor will not only deliver unmatched performance but will also assist in boosting its battery performance. As far as other specs of the device are concerned, the IBTimes report claims that Microsoft may unveil the Surface Pro 4 in two display sizes namely, a 14-inch device and a 12-inch device.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to bring support for LTE connection. Another IBTimes report states that it will house a 1 TB storage and will be packed with up to 16 GB of RAM. The pricing is expected to start at $1,200 and the model with most advanced configuration may a carry a price tag of more than $2,000.
