The Samsung Gear Fit 2 and the Gear IconX were introduced through a launch event that was held Thursday in New York City. The Gear Fit 2 preorders will start Friday, while the Gear IconX will be released in third quarter of this year.

Samsung Gear Fit 2

The new fitness wearable has been launched to replace the original Gear Fit released in 2014. According to the official press release, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 comes with a 1.55-inch Super AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. It is fueled by 1 GHz dual-core processor along with 512 MB of RAM. The device comes with 4 GB of native storage.

It runs on Tizen OS and it can be paired with smartphones that feature at least 1.5 GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat or higher. The S Health app will allow users to sync health data such as calorie count, heart rate, steps and distance covered. It also features GPS connectivity and optical heart rate sensor.

Its 200 mAh battery can last for up to three days and it supports a standby time of five hours. Compared to the predecessor model, the Gear Fit 2 sports an ergonomic design. The IP68 certification ensures the device is resistant to damage from water and dust.

It comes in three colors such as black, blue and pink and in two wristband options such as small and large. The small variant is suitable for wrists between 125 and 170 mm, while the large variant is made for wrists between 155 and 210 nm.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 preorders will start Friday with a price tag of $180 (AU$248). It will be officially available for purchase from June 10.

Samsung Gear IconX

The Gear IconX are Bluetooth enabled wireless earbuds that come with an built-in storage of 4 GB. It can allow users to load up to a thousand songs on the device. The Bluetooth audio streaming feature can allow users to listen to continuous music for 1.5 hours. It can sync health data through the S Health app.

It is a splash resistant device that gets activated when it placed in the ears. It comes with touchless controls through which users can access playlist and health tracking features of the device. The Gear IconX price has not been revealed but it is scheduled to arrive sometime in third quarter of this year.
