Samsung released its power-packed Galaxy S6 Active smartphone in June, 2015. This year, the Korean tech giant is also slated to release a powerful variant of its newly released Galaxy S6 with “Active” moniker next month.

Noted tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted an image of the Gold colour variant of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, as reported by Android Authority.

As mentioned by @evleaks, this is an AT&T variant of the Galaxy S7 Active with model number SM-G891A.

According to the screen image, June 10 could be pegged for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. Samsung, however, is yet to announce the official Galaxy S7 Active release date.

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active made its appearance on GFXBench. The smartphone is listed with a 5.5-inch display which carries a Quad HD screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Previous rumours indicated a 5.1-inch display for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, just like its predecessor. If the benchmark listings are to be believed, Samsung is planning to bump its screen size for the successor to the Galaxy S6 Active.

The benchmarking site has listed the Galaxy S7 Active with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC paired with Adreno 530 and a massive 4GB of RAM. Last year, Samsung relied on its home grown quad-core Exynos 7420 Octa processor for the Galaxy S6 Active smartphone.

According to GFXBench, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS pre-installed.

The smartphone is expected to house an IP rating of IP68. This means the device will be both dust-proof and water-resistant for up to 30 minutes in up to a meter of water.

In related news, last week, Blass also predicted that the Samsung will announce its much awaited Galaxy Note 6 in the week of Aug. 15 in the United States.

The Korean smartphone vendor is also expected to unveil a comparatively cheaper version of the Galaxy Note 6 with a low-powered processor onboard. The anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Lite may feature a 5.8-inch display screen but with Full HD resolution, Snapdragon 820 chipset and a generous 4GB of RAM.
