The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date has not been announced yet but the flagship smartphone from the South Korean giant is all set to get announced during the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 which will be held in Las Vegas. Samsung is also aiming at launching a premium edition of the handset called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which will come with dual-edge display. In September this year, Samsung had released the Galaxy Note 4 along with a premium concept phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with curved display.

Chosun Biz, an online news portal from South Korea states that tech analysts from Mirae Asset Securities are predicting that unlike the Galaxy S5 which was unleashed during the Mobile World Congress event this year, the Galaxy S6 with metal construction will get unveiled at the CES which will be held in 2015. Speculations claim that Samsung will be pegging at releasing both the handsets earlier than the competitor brands release their flagship smartphones. The probable reason behind launching the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge earlier in 2015 is that the company aims at compensating the dismal sales of Galaxy S5 in 2014.

Samsung is making use of numerous in-house manufactured parts for building the SGS6 and SGS6 Edge. GforGames indicates that this is another strategy adopted by Samsung to make huge revenue. In 2015, the South Korean tech giant will be manufacturing 45 million Galaxy S6 units out of which 10 million devices are expected to be Galaxy S6 Edge handsets.

Samsung Galaxy S6 will be housed with half-metal unibody, states PhoneArena. The Samsung Galaxy S6 features are rumoured to include Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, 3G of RAM, Android Lollipop and 20 MP camera. More information on the Samsung Galaxy S6 specifications is available at the IBTimes which was published in the previous week.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress at the end of February. The Galaxy S4 launch event was organised was held in March 2013. The Galaxy S3 was revealed in May 2012 and the Galaxy S2 was unleashed in February 2011. As of this writing, Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S6 release dates, specifications and features and it has not spoken anything on the launch event for its flagship devices for 2015.
