The recovery of a Syrian passport beside the dead body of one of the suicide bombers in the Paris attack has raised questions on the identities of the suspects.

After investigating the passport’s details, the Greek government said that whoever used it might have moved to the Greek Islands in early October, while the Serbian government added that the passport has been used to cross the southern border of the nation after a few days of reaching the Greek Islands. The government of both the nations agreed that the passport user had travelled into Europe as a refugee during the crisis.

The finding has not only been connected to the Paris attack investigation but has also raised questions onhow the countries screened incoming refugees. However, it is still unknown whether the passport that was recovered from the dead body was real or fake. It was also unclear if the passport belonged to the bomber or he illegally took it from someone.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s allies worry on the open-door policy for refugees. In addition, Bavarian Finance Minister Markus Söder told a German newspaper that the uncontrolled and illegal entry of refugees won’t continue like earlier as ”Paris changes everything.”

Passport owner Ahmed Almohamed reached on the Greek Islands on Oct. 3 and registered himself as a refugee from Syria through the passport. He then crossed the neighbourhood islands one by one and arrived to Athens on Oct. 5 along with another person, as suggested by the ticket receipt published in the Greek newspaper Prothothemascsc.

As suspected, he crossed Greece and Macedonia and then arrived at the border crossing with Serbia within those two days. “One of the suspected terrorists, A.A., who is of interest to the French security agencies, was registered in the Presevo border crossing on Oct. 7 this year, where he formally sought asylum,” the Guardian reported the interior minister of Serbia as saying, referring to the refugee influx of 2015.
