The South Sydney Rabbitohs will attempt to get back on the winning track when they visit a surging Manly Sea Eagles in Round 5 of the 2016 National Rugby League season at Brookvale Oval.

South Sydney have lost their last two games, most recently against the Canterbury Bulldogs last week on a 42-12 decimation. Against Manly, the Rabbitohs will look to give Chris Grevsmuhl and Kirisome Auva’a their first start of the season, and will get a big boost with star centre Sam Burgess set to return after a neck injury scare suffered in the club’s Round 3 loss against St George Illawarra Dragons.

South Sydney coach Michael Maguire, who confirmed that the dual international will return for the Rabbitohs against the Sea Eagles, said Burgess will be ready for some NRL action after a week off.

"It was a muscle strain through the back of his neck, which went into spasm and created some dramas throughout the shoulder region," Maguire said, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. "But fortunately for him he is ready to go and we look forward to having him back."

The Rabbitohs will also have prop Tom Burgess from a foot injury for his first match of the season.

Meanwhile, Manly is coming off an impressive two-game winning streak after losing their first two outings of the season. The Sea Eagles defeated the Sydney Roosters 22-20 last week to remain in the winning column of the NRL standings.

The Sea Eagles will be without halfback Daly Cherry-Evans due to an ankle injury, making five-eighth Dylan Walker even more important for the club. Walker admitted that he is looking forward to facing his former team after the Rabbitohs granted him an early release.

"I'm pretty excited to play them, especially at Brookvale," Walker said, reports Stuff. "For the first time it will be a bit different. I always saw myself as wearing the red and green for a very long time.”

Manly will not play Jamie Buhrer due to a hand injury, but the club will welcome back Martin Taupau and Brenton Lawrence from suspensions.
