There are quite a bunch of devices, especially smartwatches, that have recently become popular among the urban crowd. The list includes Pebble, Martian, Cookoo, Sony, I'm Watch and more. The very recent additions to this never-ending list are Samsung Gear, LG G Watch and Motorola Moto 360. As the competition on wearable gadgets soars, Motorola has decided to take the plunge and bring in the successor to Moto 360, also referred to as Moto 360 2.

Motorola's Gleb Mishin, head of the Eastern European branch, has reportedly hinted that the Motorola Moto 360's successor or Moto 360 2 is on its way. The second generation of the Android Wear-powered circular smartwatch will reportedly be launched in early 2015. It is worth noting that Motorola is now owned by Lenovo and not by Google, according to Phone Arena.

Apparently, the information about the Moto 360 successor was disclosed at a press conference in Russia. Gleb reportedly said that the second generation smartwatch might soon be launched in Russia. He also added that the gear will come with a modified design and that the smartwatch will look more like a regular watch. This means the unused space (black bar) at the tail end of the watch's dial will be removed to make it look like a regular watch, Phone Arena states.

On the other hand, Motorola's latest devices such as the Moto G 2014, Moto E 2014 and the Motorola Nexus 6, along with the much-loved first-generation Moto 360 smartwatch, will hit store shelves in Russia by early 2015. This is also when the second-generation Moto 360 gear will be introduced, according to Gleb.

Meanwhile, interested readers can purchase the first-generation Moto 360 smartwatch from Best Buy. The base model's price is US$249.99.
