Microsoft will be present at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 that will be held at Barcelona, Spain from March 2 to 5. However, the company has not announced the devices that they are going to unveil at the event. Rumours are rife that Microsoft will not be unveiling any flagship smartphone at the event.

GeekOnGadgets claims Microsoft will only launch only low-end phones at MWC 2015. The source claims that the company would be aiming at rolling out a successor model for the Lumia 625. Another low-end handset that is expected to get revealed at the event includes the Lumia 330 or the Lumia 430. According to GSMArena, the Lumia 625 successor may be a 5-inch handset which has surfaced as Lumia RM-1090 in the rumours and the other handset may be the Lumia RM-1069 handset. GSMArena adds another handset speculated as Lumia RM-1110 handset is also pegged unveiled at the MWC 2015 event.

The Lumia 1020 successor carrying the Lumia McLaren codename has been axed and Microsoft has no plans to unveil any flagship smartphone until September 2015. Major brands are going to release various flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, LG G4 and Sony Xperia X4 in the coming year. Until Microsoft reveals its high-end flagship in September next year, the existing Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 930 will compete with flagships from rival companies.

During the IFA event which was held in September 2014, Microsoft had showcased two midrange handsets, the Lumia 730/735 selfie phone and the Lumia 830 handset. These handsets are one of the last smartphones to feature the Nokia brand name. In the recent past, Microsoft had also released another low cost handset, the Lumia 535 and it became the first handset to come out with Microsoft branding.

Microsoft has not confirmed whether it will be rolling out a flagship smartphone at the MWC event. Low-end smartphones like the Lumia 520 has helped in pushing the popularity of Windows Phone OS. Going by the speculations, it seems that the company will be focusing on rolling out midrange and low-end handsets for most part of 2015, says VR-Zone.
