Microsoft Lumia Denim Update Starts Rolling Out Worldwide, Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 And Lumia Denim Features Revealed

Microsoft has confirmed that it will be rolling out the Lumia Denim update worldwide. This update will also officially bring along the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.

In the last week, GSMArena had reported that the Lumia Denim update had released in China. It says that the update was announced in September and its details were revealed in October. Also, GSMArena had also revealed last week through another post that the update is available for 30 countries in Europe and India. PCWorld states that for Windows Phone users in the U.S., the update will be made available through carrier by the end of the year.

Owners of handsets like Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon and Lumia 1520 can soon update their handsets with the new updated Lumia Camera app. However, the very popular Nokia Lumia 1020 camera phone will not be receiving it.

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Features
According to Lumia Conversations, the new update will bring on following features on all the Windows Phone 8 handsets:

• Cortana - The digital voice-assistant app's updated edition will arrive in the U.S, its beta version will come in the UK and China and the Alpha edition will be released in Australia, India and Canada.
• Live Folders - It will allow users to organise their apps or games by making new folders.
• Apps Corner - It will allow users to create a personalized Start Screen to display only certain apps or games. It is a useful feature for those handsets that are shared by multiple users at workplace.
• SMS Merge And Forwarding - Text messages can be individually selected and deleted or can be easily copied and pasted on a new message.
• Other Features
  Some of the other features that are going to arrive with Windows Phone 8.1 Update include consumer VPN, improved browsing experience on mobile sites, updated snooze feature on the Alarm app and Store Live Tiles for U.S users.

Lumia Denim Features
The new Lumia Denim Update will bring exclusive new features for Lumia devices, says Nokia Conversations. Some of the major Lumia handsets to receive the update are Lumia 520, Lumia 525, Lumia 530, Lumia 625, Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon and Lumia 1320. The Lumia 730 and the Lumia 735 comes preloaded with the Lumia Denim update.

• Lumia Camera - A new more and user-friendly camera app replaces the older Nokia Camera app.
• Speed - It will allow users to snap images quickly.
• Moment Capture - By pressing longer on the camera button on compatible devices it will allow users to record 4K-quality videos at 24 fps.
• Hey Cortana - By simply saying 'Hey Cortana', the digital voice-assistant app can be launched without the need of starting it manually
• Glance Screen - On compatible handsets, this feature will allow users to see more information from notifications, Bing Weather and more.
• Other Features
  Rich Capture that comprises of Auto HDR and Dynamic Flash and enhanced image processing will allow users to snap better quality photos.
