A man from Nine Mine Falls, Washington is accused of strangling his girlfriend and soaking her body in a tub of acid. The murder was reportedly inspired by an episode of the popular television series "Breaking Bad".

Jason Hart, 27, was discovered to be a big fan of the series and bought DVDs of "Breaking Bad" before the murder happened.

"The only thing I know or feel about it-that was his favorite series. That's what he told me. I think he used it as instructions to go do what he was doing to dispose the body," the accused's roommate, Dean Settle, said to the police.

Settle found the naked body of Hart's girlfriend, Regan Jolley, soaking in a plastic tub full of acid in their garage in West Autumn Lane.

Investigators later seized the "Breaking Bad" DVDs in Hart's home, which included the second episode 'Cats in the Bag' of the first season.

In the episode, the main character, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), explains how to dissolve a body. "You see, hydrofluoric acid won't eat through plastic, it will however dissolve metal, rock, glass, ceramic."

According to the autopsy results released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner, Jolley, 33, was strangled to death.

Local station KHQ reported that Hart had been dating Jolley for a few weeks but is still married with two children. His family reported that he was a methamphetamine addict. His estranged wife said that Hart becomes "a completely different person" when under the influence of drugs.

Prosecutors consider the murder as a case of domestic violence. Hart pleaded not guilty.

His trial is set for August 12, a day after Breaking Bad premieres its final eight episodes.
