Over the weekend, Halo fans have been counting down the days following the reveal of a teaser Tumblr website that says “hunt the truth.” This website has been linked to the latest installment of the game, “Halo 5: Guardians,” and was set to reveal a surprise come Sunday.

The surprise was a new trailer, seen below, and it features a bullet with the word “traitor” engraved on it. The bullet is fired, and it shatters Master Chief’s iconic helmet. Now, the Tumblr "HunttheTruth" website features a new expose on Master Chief following the perspective of a journalist and war photographer Benjamin Giraud.

There are a few sound clips from Giraud, which will expose the truth about the Chief. It appears that the journalist has been an eyewitness for Master Chief after he saved mankind. He has been hired to create an in-depth profile trailing the life story of the Master Chief. But it appears that the truth is something that may not be what everyone would want to hear about.

The hunt for the truth will happen every week, where a new episode will be released. So far, the website contains two clips. The first is the sound clip of Giraud’s mission to expose the truth, while the second is a video clip of the teaser trailer, which can now be manipulated so that details on the bullet can easily be seen.

As far as the details for “Halo 5: Guardians,” are concerned, some more popped up in an interview that IGN had with Agent Locke actor Mike Colter. The actor revealed that his character will be playing a prominent role in the game “Halo 5: Guardians.” In fact, Locke may be featured in more than just this year’s Halo title, as Colter teases that he may be one of the new additions that will be seen in future games. But more interestingly, one familiar name has popped up in the conversation.

“When he goes into ‘Halo 5,’ you’ll see him transition into a Spartan, a super soldier,” said Colter to IGN. “Obviously Master Chief will be involved, Cortana, but Locke will be one of the playable characters in ‘Halo 5.’”

Cortana has been quite the mystery figure. When “Halo 5: Guardians” was first hinted at, fans have spotted some clues pertaining to Cortana’s reappearance, despite her demise in “Halo 4.” But as more additions like Locke have been at the forefront of “Halo 5: Guardians,” there haven’t been much activity and talk about Cortana. Now that Locke has confirmed that she will, in some way, have a presence in “Halo 5: Guardians,” this can spur another discussion among fans.
