Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Sunday called the current $6 trillion Democratic reconciliation process package “very problematic" and insisted that President Joe Biden support a $1 billion infrastructure plan, which he and the 21 bipartisan lawmakers have proposed.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," Graham told host Chris Wallace that he would like Biden to reject a “grab bag of progressive priorities.” Graham echoed the comments of Sen. Rob Portman, R-Wis.

"You've got to decide what kind of president you are and what kind of presidency you want," Graham said.

Senate Democrats' infrastructure package may use reconciliation after bipartisan talks have failed. Graham called on Biden to reconsider and work with the bipartisan group.

"President Biden, if you want an infrastructure deal of a trillion dollars, it's there for the taking, you just need to get involved and lead," Graham said.

Portman had said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that “ours is about core infrastructure and it is paid for."

Graham slammed the size of the Democrats' plan.

“Six trillion dollars is more than we spent on World War II," he said. "And what they're calling infrastructure, the liberal left, to me, is not remotely related to what's traditionally been called infrastructure. It's just -- it’s just a power grab by the Democratic Party in every area of our lives.”

Biden and Democrats have included investments in education, transportation and fighting climate change in their $6 trillion plan. Lowering the Medicare eligibility age to 60, and adding dental, vision and hearing benefits are also part of the Democrats' proposal.
