HBO has finally revealed the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 release date. The hit drama series is set to premiere on April 24, which means fans still have almost four months before they find out the real fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 premiered on April 12 with an episode titled “The Wars to Come.” The Season’s final two episodes became controversial because of the surprising deaths of several characters including Jon Snow.

In 2015, Harington was spotted in the location of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 filming in Belfast, North Ireland, which made fans believe that he will return to the upcoming Season. Some fans of the hit HBO series believe it is either Jon Snow will be resurrected or he is really dead but he will be featured in flashback scenes.

Harington has yet to confirm whether or not Jon Snow will be resurrected in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. On Jan. 5, Tuesday, the actor was spotted shirtless while wearing swim shorts in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he was enjoying a hotel pool, according to Just Jared.

What has been confirmed is that Harington is set to star in two upcoming films. Opposite Bella Thorne and Jessica Chastain, he will play the title role in “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan,” written and directed by Xavier Dolan.

Aside from “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan,” Harington will star in “Brimstone,” which is written and directed by Martin Koolhoven. The film will also star Dakota Fanning and Harington’s “Game of Thrones” co-star Carice van Houten.

While it is yet to be confirmed whether or not Harington will appear in in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, van Houten is confirmed to reprise her role as Melisandre. Other characters expected to be seen in the upcoming season are Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), among others.

In a recent interview with E! News, Dormer shared some “Game of Thrones” 6 spoilers. She particularly said, “ I can tell you that Margaery's problem is not Cersei anymore .”
