The “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel “Fifty Shades Darker” is already a done deal and is scheduled for release on February 2017. During an interview, Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley revealed what fans should expect to see in the film.

Donna Langley sat down with The Hollywood Reporter during its annual Power Lawyers breakfast to talk about the studio’s success in the movie industry. Part of what was discussed was the success of “Fifty Shades of Grey” and definite plans for its sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.” Langley said viewers should expect a different theme to the sequel as the second installment will be "more of a thriller."

Despite losing the film’s director Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Langley confirmed the sequel will still push through starting off with a new script writer. Donna spoke about the recent hire of Niall Leonard as scriptwriter. The latter also happens to be the husband of E.L. James, author of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” book series. "He [Niall Leonard] actually did a draft that wasn't credited on the first movie, and he did a really good job,” Langley said.

In related news, the first teaser trailer for “Fifty Shades Darker” has also been released online. According to IGN, the teaser was first pointed out by Latino Review. The video opens with the phrase “Are you ready” before it shows Christian Grey getting dressed for a black-tie-event. Then the next phrase “for something” pans out on screen before revealing the young billionaire putting on a black eye mask. The teaser ends with the word “darker” before the full “Fifty Shades Darker” title comes out on screen.

It’s surprising how any “Fifty Shades of Grey” fan could have missed the video as it was published in YouTube on April 25. The teaser video for “Fifty Shades Darker” has since received more than 600 thousand likes in YouTube. According to user Patricia Almeida, who uploaded the video, the teaser was included in the Blu-Ray version of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” However, user Melissa Sanchez doubted the trailer is new since the teaser was supposedly already revealed in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” mobile app.
