With 2013 soon to come to an end, it is normal to expect the best of 2013 articles to go viral online. And in terms of Facebook trends 2013, Australia had its own share of the most popular topics that were consistent news breaking hits for the year.

According to The Drum, the most talked about topics in Down Under include politics as number 1 topic:

For News.com.au, there is also a list for the most talked-about entertainment topics within Australia:

On the other hand, Australia's most talked about public figures are:

Sky News Australia added that most Aussie users of Facebook posted topics that evolved around sports and politics. 'Cricket' ranked third in most featured topics with 'Lions' ranking eight. But Princess 'Kate' beat those as the term secured the second spot after the birth of the royal baby, Prince George, in July.

Facebook claims to have around 12 million Aussie users on a monthly rate and 9 million on a daily basis.

The giant social media site also unravelled the top locations in Down Under where most Aussies checked in:

Facebook also shared the percentage of gadgets used by Australians in accessing their site. "Recent research undertaken by TNS and commissioned by Facebook shows that Australians are increasingly accessing Facebook via a mobile device (81%). Also, 70% are using Facebook from multiple devices - desktop, phone and/or tablet," according to the social media site.

Facebook was first launched way back in 2004 and since then emerged to become the most popular and continuously growing site in the entire globe.
