Kendrick Lamar is out. The “Poetic Justice” artist has pulled out of rap superstar Eminem’s Rapture hip-hop festival due to “unavoidable scheduling conflict.” Rap collective Odd Future has been named as his replacement.

“New Zealand! Sorry I’m missing you this time, but the homies, ODD FUTURE will kill it for you and I’m excited for Australia this month,” Lamar said after the announcement that he won’t be able to make it to the Rapture Auckland 2014 on February 15.

He is still on for the Rapture Australian dates, though, including Melbourne on February 19, Brisbane on February 20, and Sydney on February 22.

“The good news is that we’ve been able to sub-in another killer L.A. hip-hop act – ODD FUTURE. Also just added to the line-up is one of Australia’s finest – 360 – so it’s now a huge bill for Rapture Auckland. And Kendrick will definitely be joining us for the Rapture Australia shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney,” promoter Paul Dainty said.

Rapture is a hip-hop touring event curated by Eminem. Aside from New Zealand and Australia, the show will also hold shows in South Africa, particularly in Cape Town Stadium on February 26 and in Johannseburg’s Ellis Park Stadium on March 1.

It’s the first time Eminem is visiting both New Zealand and South Africa.
