Eminem will be headlining the newest festival in New Zealand. The U.S. superstar rapper has been announced to top the billing at Rapture, the one-day music festival at Western Springs in Auckland on February 15.

Rapture will be Eminem’s New Zealand debut 14 years after the release of his album “The Slim Shady LP,” which propelled him to stardom in 1999.

Fellow hip-hop stars Kendrick Lamar and J Cole will join the 41-year-old multi-Grammy Award winner for the event that is described as “a game-changing hip hop event curated by Eminem.”

After the premiere outdoor event in New Zealand, Rapture will then move to Australia for dates in Melbourne (February 19), Brisbane (February 20), and Sydney (February 22).

Aussie hip-hop star 360 will be supporting the event on the Australian dates, while Kiwi rapper David Dallas will be playing at the Auckland venue.

“I’m pretty stoked,” Dallas told Billboard. “Eminem has generations of fans in New Zealand. He’s never been here, so it’s going to be huge.”

If Rapture sounds like a show made especially for Eminem, it’s because it is the brainchild of Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg and Australian promoter Paul Dainty. Rumours surfaced earlier in September that Eminem will be returning every year of the festival, and will be accompanied by some of the biggest names in hip-hop.

But even after the official announcement of the festival on Monday, that remains a speculation by eager fans. What is certain as of this time is that Eminem will be playing for four dates in NZ and Australia in 2014.

“I am really excited to be working with Eminem on Rapture, an annual event with a long-term vision of showcasing the best of the best in hip-hop at affordable prices to the punter,” Dainty said in a statement.

Tickets will go on sale on October 31. Pre-sale for Australian dates will start at 2pm on October 24, while pre-sale for the lone New Zealand date will start at 12pm on the same day.

Eminem is set to release “Marshall Mathers LP 2” on November 5.
