While waiting for the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” NBA teams celebrated their Star Wars Night. Among the celebrities who attended the event was Eminem’s protégé Curtis James Jackson III, who is professionally known as 50 Cent.

As a spokesperson for the Effen brand, 50 Cent joined the Phoenix Suns President Jason Rowley to toast the opening of the new Effen Vodka Lounge at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday, Dec. 11, according to AZ Central. On the same day, the rapper attended the Star Wars Nights of the NBA teams.

During the NBA’s Star Wars Night, 50 Cent introduced Phoenix Suns players with Star Wars-inspired names, according to Hoops Hypes. Eric Bledseo and Jon Leuer were introduced as Eric Bled-Solo and Leuer Skywalker based on Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford’s respective characters, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Speaking of the film, along with Hamill and Ford, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” also stars Carrie Fisher as Leia, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, John Boyega as Finn, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke and Kenny Baker as R2-D2, among others. Directed by J.J. Abrams, the fantasy action film will have its premiere in Sydney on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent has yet to star on the big screen after his last film, “Southpaw.” Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the boxing film also starred Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris, Victor Ortiz, Beau Knapp, Miguel Gomez, Jose Caraballo, Dominic Colon and Skylan Brooks, among others.

The soundtrack album of “Southpaw” was executive produced by Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg. The single “Phenomenal” by Eminem from the album is one of the 74 songs being considered for the Best Original Song category of the Academy Awards.
