Both devices look similar
Soon after 4G was introduced, many companies adopted the new tech to appeal to a larger market. Samsung introduced 4G to its J-series smartphones, of which the Galaxy J5 and J7 created a lot of buzz.
While both claim stunning features, one is smaller in size and has slower processor than the other. If you go through the features, you’ll discover that one is a phone and the other a phablet. Read to know which is better.
Displays and Design
Both devices look similar but the J7 is heavier at 171 grams than the J5 that weighs 146 grams. Because of their metal exterior, the devices are durable. Both are configured with a volume button on the left and a power button on the right.
Super Amoled technology is used on both smartphones, of which the J5 boasts a higher pixel density of 294 ppi for its 5-inch display size. On the other hand, the J7 offers a 267 ppi density for its 5.5-inch screen. Screens of both the devices support 720 x 1280 MP resolution for enhanced visuals.
Software
Both devices have Android 5.1 Lollipop as their OS. Users will also benefit from Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, Ultra-power Saving Mode, Easy Mode and 14 regional languages, among others.
Camera
Armed with a 13 MP shooter at the rear and a 5 MP front-facing camera, both phones boast of great image and video quality. The cameras have autofocus, an 85 degree wide angle lens, LED flash and an f/1.9 aperture, among others. Experience video in full HD quality at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, reports Neuro Gadgets.
Hardware
A look into the hardware will tell you definitely which is better. The J5 features a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, while the J7 offers two variants: one is the Exynos 7580 octa core set at 1.5 GHz and the other a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 octa core at 1.4GHz.
Memory
The J5 has card slots for 8 GB and 16 GB SDs while the J7 hosts 16 GB of native memory.
If you go by a bigger display and better processor, the J7 is the right choice for you.
