The official Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) website has been updated, and keen eyes were quick to spot the inclusion of CD Projekt Red among the list of Participating Companies. It goes without saying that the would-be presence of the Polish company is a cause for celebration due to its upcoming game “Cyberpunk 2077.”

One may argue that it if hadn’t been for “The Witcher” franchise, there wouldn’t be as much hype as there is now for CD Projekt Red’s next offering. Now, hopes are high that the company, known for its secrecy, would finally announce something everyone has been waiting for.

Back in January, the developer’s official Twitter account posted a tweet (see below) after a four-year silence. This has prompted gamers and journalists to expect 2018 to be the year “Cyberpunk 2077” will be released.

Whispers of CD Projekt Red’s E3 appearance have been ongoing for a while, though. When the year began, anonymous sources told GRYOnline, a Polish gaming site, that the developers might finally provide a playable demo during the expo. If such a demo exists, it is expected to be only playable within closed doors for “journalists and other media representatives.”

GRYOnline’s report, however, stresses that this should be taken with a grain of salt. It has also asked CD Projekt Red for more info but only received a response that the studio refuses to comment on speculations.

CD Projekt Red is well-known for the mega-successful Witcher games, the third of which, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” receiving rave reviews and winning numerous Game of the Year awards. Meanwhile, E3 2018 is set to happen on June 12 -14 this year at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
