A potential meeting between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter is being discussed according to sources. Thurman and Porter are top contenders in the welterweight division and the pair may be fighting on June 20, 2015 for a Premier Boxing Champions, or PBC event, according to boxing website, FightHype.com.

If the Thurman-Porter bout happens on the said date, it will go head-to-head with the middleweight bout involving current division champion Andre Ward who is scheduled to fight at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California against an unknown opponent, according to the report.

The probable Thurman-Porter bout will be handled by Al Haymon, who runs PBC and is the manger of undefeated welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather, while Ward’s fights under Roc Nation Sports, owned by hip-hop artist Jay-Z.

Thurman, like Mayweather, is undefeated in his pro boxing career with 25 victories and 21 coming by way of knockouts. His last bout was against Robert Guerrero last March when he won the World Boxing Association, or WBA World welterweight crown. Other key fights for Thurman include wins over Julio Diaz in 2014 for the interim WBA belt, Jan Zaveck in 2013 for the World Boxing Organization, or WBO Inter-Continental welterweight title and Carlos Quintana in 2012 for the World Boxing Organization North American Boxing Organization, or WBO NABO super welterweight title.

Meanwhile, Porter has a record of 25 wins against one loss in his pro boxing career. His lone defeat came against Kell Brook on Aug. 16, 2014 when he lost via majority decision. The fight was for the International Boxing Federation, or IBF World welterweight title. Porter’s victories include fights against Paul Malignaggi in 2014 when he defended the IBF welterweight crown, against Devon Alexander in 2013 when he first won the IBF title.
