Rumors about Apple's new iPhone 5 are circulating the web as many people are setting high expectations about this new offering from Apple. Aside from possible specifications and features, rumors about the possible release date are also spreading like wildfire in the Internet.

Screen Size

One of the rumored specifications about Apple's iPhone 5 is the possibility that it would have a larger screen size. Through having a larger screen size, iPhone 5 users would be able to maximize their iPhone 5 use due to having a bigger screen for images and pictures. Though the rumors about a bigger screen size seem to be in consensus with one another, the exact measurement is still unconfirmed. 9to5Mac first reported that the iPhone 5 will have a 3.999-inch display based on the two prototype handsets that were found in an Apple HQ. On the other hand, MacRumors also released a rumored report regarding the screen size of Apple's iPhone 5 and according to the website; it would have a 4.1-inch display. Though there is a difference regarding the exact screen size, it is safe to say that there is a possibility of a bigger screen size for Apple's iPhone 5.

Dimensions

Despite the fact that Apple's iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen, many reports are speculating that the new iPhone would be thinner and possibly lighter. Digitimes published a report regarding this topic stating that "An improvement in yield rates of the in-cell touch panels at Sharp and TMD has persuaded Apple to choose to cooperate with Japan-based panel makers". The report also mentioned that Apple is facing tough competition from Android-based smartphones and the company needs to improve their newest iPhone model in order to retain their dominant position in the smartphone market.

Processor

In order to support the new features that are supposed to be included in the new iPhone, it would mean a much faster processor as compared to Apple's iPhone 4S. There are rumors stating that Apple would not be utilizing the usual A5 processor but it would focus on utilizing either an A5x or A6 processor in order to support these additional features.

Release Date

Another source of debate regarding Apple's iPhone 5 is its release date. Earlier rumors suggest that Apple would be releasing the new iPhone 5 around June during the Worldwide Developers Conference. Though that is the case, there are still no hints about this possible release date hence the emergence of another speculation. Other reports are suggesting that Apple's iPhone 5 would be released in the market by October, 2012. Though there is still no confirmed date, there is a big possibility that the device would be released before the year ends.
