Adriana Lima considers herself as the 'grandma' among the Victoria's Secret Angels, having done a total of 13 fashion shows for Victoria's Secret.

But the Brazilian-born model reveals to British Vogue that she has been working for the lingerie brand way before the year 2000.

'I first walked in the show in 2000, but I was working with the brand even before that, actually,' says Adriana during her appearance at the Victoria's Secret store in New Bond Street in London. 'My first show, Stephanie Seymour and Karen Mulder were in it, too - and it is amazing to have done the show for so long...'

Adriana has seen fellow Angels leave the group, such as Gisele Bundchen and Miranda Kerr, but she has also seen many new faces coming through the brand's roster of models and Angels over the years.

'I love the new girls, though. Cara is so cool. I love the girls that they choose, they are always super nice, really excited. It's just the most fun job.'

For Adriana, one of the perks of being a modeling veteran is knowing exactly what works for her even without trying them on.

'I never try anything on, actually. After so long wearing so many different styles, I can look at something and know if it will suit me; even sunglasses. It's great - I just say, I don't need to try them, I'll take these!'

She is also grateful for the designers at Victoria's Secret for taking their input on the things they love to wear.

'(T)he designers know what we all like to wear - the colours and shapes we like - and they really listen to us.'

Various fashion insiders have noted Adriana's dedication to her career, the most memorable of which was when she walked the Victoria's Secret runway eight weeks after giving birth last year. She also trains vigorously under her long-time trainer Michael Olajide Jr, and even observes a pre-show liquid diet consisting of water and powdered eggs.

Meanwhile, Adriana also dishes about her holiday plans, which includes heading home to Miami after her store visit in Dubai to spend it with husband Marko and two daughters: four-year-old Valentina and one-year-old Sienna.

'She's a bit afraid of Santa, but she is definitely excited about the presents!' says Lima of her daughter Valentina. 'We're having to work hard to stop her opening them all before the day. She loves the tree, too, so it will just be a big family day. And turkey is traditional in Brazil, so that's what we'll have.'
