One pairing that "The Vampire Diaries" fans watch out for in season 6 is the Stefan-Caroline or "Steroline" relationship whether the two characters will remain best friends or not. Executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries already talked about the ruined "Steroline" friendship but now it is Paul Wesley and Candice Accola's turn to weigh in on the relationship between their characters.

At the moment, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline's (Candice Accola) friendship is on the rocks because of the blonde vampire's "thing" for her best friend and the Salvatore vampire's behavior for the past couple of months due to his brother's absence. Actress Candice Accola teased in a TV Guide interview that there is still a chance for Caroline and Stefan to redeem their friendship and it will be interesting to witness how the two will progress in the CW TV series.

"Because that's what happens in life. Sometimes you can't and friendships are just lost, but when there's grief being experienced, that's a good place to start in rebuilding their friendship because it brings reality to the situation," the 27-year-old actress explained. It looks like the "Steroline" friendship will continue if the two work things out.

Executive producer Caroline Dries previously teased in a TV Guide interview that Stefan and Caroline will continue to be friends and the show will continue to play with their friendship-romance storyline hoping that something good will come out from it. Dries further added that the fans will notice that every time that the two characters are in a scene together, it will feel charged because of Caroline's deep feelings for her best friend.

As for Candice's TVD co-star Paul Wesley, the 32-year-old actor thinks that the circumstances that Stefan and Caroline deal with create a bond between them whether they like it or not. Paul Wesley explained that what Stefan Salvatore is going through is a little phase in his arc in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. "And then, you know, he comes around full circle. Hopefully. Eventually," Wesley teased.

Aside from Caroline's love life in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, Candice Accola also talked about the growth of her character since the CW TV series premiered back in 2009. However, the actress teased that her currently tough character could head for a lapse.

"Sometimes, when you feel like you're the strongest, that's when you fall. So it will be interesting to see what happens," Accola teased. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will return with episode 8 titled "Fade Into You" on Thursday night, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
